The NATO Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Force (NISRF) provides essential tracking information on high-value and critical targets to Allied forces during Ramstein Flag 2024 in Greece.
By executing the full spectrum of ISR processing, exploitation, and dissemination of information, the NISRF is able to deliver near-real-time data to support sophisticated Counter Anti-Access/Area Denial (C-A2/AD) and Integrated Air and Missile Defence operations.
During Ramstein Flag 2024, the NISRF captures organic imagery and collects data, provides quick analyses, and disseminates high-quality intelligence in support of Allied operations to prioritize target listings and enhance situational awareness for aircrews.
“We are proud to participate in Ramstein Flag 2024; it is a unique opportunity to improve platform interoperability and data integration across the Alliance,” stated Brigadier General Clark, Commander of NISRF. “Our unique ISR capabilities provide NATO with the critical information needed to maintain situational awareness,” he added.
NISRF is a multinational NATO force established in 2015 as the NATO Alliance Ground Surveillance Force (NAGSF), based in Sigonella, Italy. The five high-end Alliance Ground Surveillance RQ-4D “Phoenix” Unmanned Aerial Systems are capable of conducting radar reconnaissance and providing ground surveillance during both day and night, autonomously and independently of weather conditions, thereby enhancing the operational readiness of the Alliance in order to be able to maintain peace in Europe.
NSPA, as NATO’s Alliance Ground Surveillance (AGS) Life Cycle Manager, manages and coordinates the programme of behalf of NATO’s 32 nations. The core supporting team for the AGS is based at the NSPA headquarters in Capellen (Luxembourg) with parallel elements providing support from the AGS Main Operating Base in Sigonella (Italy). NSPA provides this support to participating nations through its AGS Support Partnership.
