MBDA Showcases New Systems for Maritime Warfare at Euronaval 2024

European firm MBDA is showcasing its upgraded portfolio, including several new systems, at the Euronaval defense exhibition in France.

The sovereign defense solutions will “provide a full range of decisive capabilities to ensure maritime superiority,” stated the company.

They include two newly developed missiles and a remote-controlled anti-air defense system.

Exocet SM40 Missile

The Exocet SM40 is a submarine-launched missile designed for anti-ship and surface warfare, capable of reaching extreme depths underwater.

It features a new turbojet propulsion system and an advanced radar frequency seeker that enhances its ability to discriminate and identify targets.

The missile is engineered to ensure submarine self-protection against threats and to defeat heavily defended vessels.

TESEO Mk2/E Missile

The TESEO Mk2/E is a long-range missile designed for precise anti-ship missions and high-precision land attacks.

It features a dual-mode seeker with advanced sensors and a two-way data link for real-time control, allowing for target updates and mission abort options.

With a high subsonic cruise speed, it can strike targets over 350 kilometers (270 miles) away.

SIMBAD-RC Remote-Controlled System

The SIMBAD-RC is a remote-controlled, short-range anti-air defense system capable of firing two fire-and-forget MISTRAL 3 missiles from warships.

It is designed to withstand saturation attacks and to enhance naval platforms’ self-defense capabilities against a wide range of short-range aerial threats.
