{"id":538,"date":"2024-11-09T17:56:12","date_gmt":"2024-11-09T17:56:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thedefencenews.com\/?p=538"},"modified":"2024-11-09T17:56:12","modified_gmt":"2024-11-09T17:56:12","slug":"nato-launches-societal-resilience-grants-for-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thedefencenews.com\/?p=538","title":{"rendered":"NATO launches societal resilience grants for 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NATO is calling for partners across civil society in 2025!<\/p>\n<p>Do you have a project echoing NATO\u2019s mission and directly contributing to societal resilience?<\/p>\n<p>The NATO Public Diplomacy Division (PDD) is looking for impactful proposals from civil society organisations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), universities, think tanks, youth organisations, media organisations and research bodies from NATO member and partner countries.<\/p>\n<p>NATO encourages strong civil society involvement in public debate around security and defence issues, and individual and collective efforts to make an impact. In doing so, NATO seeks to promote understanding, trust in and support for the Alliance\u2019s roles and mission: preserving peace and preventing conflict.<\/p>\n<p>If your project contributes to these missions in an original way, we are eager to hear from you.<\/p>\n<p>Next year, we will support projects along the 5 following priorities:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Countering information threats<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Defending NATO values: Voices for individual liberty, human rights, democracy and the rule of law<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Cooperative security in NATO\u2019s southern neighbourhood<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Empowering women contributing to peace, security and societal resilience<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Free and independent media<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>We will consider a variety of projects in the following fields:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>grassroots initiatives and collective action;<\/li>\n<li>digital projects (podcasts, games, documentary series, etc.);<\/li>\n<li>campaigns (online, face-to-face, etc.);<\/li>\n<li>academic and investigative research (reports, innovative methodologies, etc.);<\/li>\n<li>capacity building, training programmes and workshops;<\/li>\n<li>community-building initiatives;<\/li>\n<li>public events and seminars;<\/li>\n<li>and other relevant projects promoting peace and security.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more specific guidance on project content, read the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nato.int\/structur\/pdd\/2025\/2025-content-guidelines-nato-grants.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">content guidelines<\/a>\u00a0<small>(PDF)<\/small>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please be aware:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applications must be completed by 8 January 2025 by submitting the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nato.int\/structur\/pdd\/2025\/2025-project-outline.docx\">project outline\u00a0<small>(download docx)<\/small><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nato.int\/structur\/pdd\/2025\/2025-pdd-co-spons-budget-table.xlsx\">budget table templates\u00a0<small>(download xlsx)<\/small><\/a>\u00a0available on this page.<\/li>\n<li>Decisions will be announced in early 2025.<\/li>\n<li>Projects must be implemented in 2025, with costs incurred by 31 December 2025.<\/li>\n<li>NATO will accept a maximum of two grant applications per organisation for the five 2025 calls for applications listed below.<\/li>\n<li>Each proposal should be unique in nature and only one application can be submitted per category.<\/li>\n<li>Depending on the scale and quality of the proposed project, NATO support ranges from approximately EUR 5,000 to EUR 15,000. Exceptionally, projects above these amounts will also be considered, but should not exceed EUR 25,000.<\/li>\n<li>The final amount granted by NATO to a successful project may be lower than the amount initially requested.<\/li>\n<li>We encourage potential grantees to consider scalability with available resources in their project proposals, as well as multiple funding streams.<\/li>\n<li>Further details on financial rules are available in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nato.int\/structur\/pdd\/2025\/2025-app-guide-fin-rep-proced.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Application Guidelines and Financial and Reporting Procedures<\/a>\u00a0<small>(PDF)<\/small>\u00a0on this page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, NATO will consider supporting major conferences and other public-facing projects relevant to Euro-Atlantic security, in particular linked to NATO\u2019s task to ensure credible deterrence and defence, NATO\u2019s support to Ukraine and the strengthening of Alliance partnerships. These applications can be submitted in the course of 2025 and will be assessed on a rolling basis. Like all other projects, they will need to be completed in 2025.
