{"id":1935,"date":"2026-01-22T07:57:47","date_gmt":"2026-01-22T05:57:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thedefencenews.com\/?p=1935"},"modified":"2025-12-23T13:15:57","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T11:15:57","slug":"ncia-engages-with-industry-to-implement-first-stage-of-natos-protected-business-network-pbn-capability","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thedefencenews.com\/?p=1935","title":{"rendered":"NCIA engages with industry to implement first stage of NATO\u2019s Protected Business Network (PBN) capability"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mdl-grid\">\n<div class=\"mdl-cell mdl-cell--12-col\">\n<p><b>The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) hosted an industry engagement event in Brussels, Belgium, for the implementation of NATO\u2019s Protected Business Network (PBN) capability, with a focus on Project 0, which is the first step towards enabling the entire capability.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Over 200 companies were nominated by 21 NATO Nations for this engagement. With more than 400 attendees participating on-site and online, the aim of the event was two-fold: to gather industry feedback on the feasibility of NCIA\u2019s proposed project timeline and process, and to inform industry on how to effectively respond to the competitive process that will soon be released by the Agency. This business opportunity at the current stage of development may entail awards for up to 200 million EUR.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mdl-grid\">\n<div class=\"mdl-cell mdl-cell--12-col\">As part of NATO\u2019s broader digital transformation, NCIA\u2019s PBN capability aims to provide a single unified network across the entire Alliance, up to the classification level of NATO Restricted. This transformative break-through will enable greater device mobility and portability, reduce the reliance on physical data centres in favour of cloud solutions, and strengthen the Alliance\u2019s resilience against cyber threats.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"mdl-cell mdl-cell--12-col\">This event attested to the value placed by NCIA on early engagement with industry.
